The
photography exhibition “ Landscapes 2005”,
held in the courtyard of Palazzo Ferretti in Cortona
is, in extreme synthesis, the photographic fruit of
a number of trips I have been on together with some
friends over the past few years. This is doubtless
the kind of photography I enjoy most and that best
suits me. Landscape photography still manages to give
me strong emotions. In my roamings in search for evoking
images I always bear well in mind the basic concepts
I learned over the years I deem crucial to get excellent
pictures: a harmonious search for perspective and
the right light. Luck isn’t, however, always
on your side. You are often in the right place but
lack adequate light or you can viceversa rely on stunning
light conditions but are in the wrong place and lack
the right perspective. To make a long story short
reasons for failure may vary and I am not immunune
to failure. It is, howerver, crucially important in
my opinion to blend in with the surrounding environment
and interpret with your senses the sweet chromatisms,
the lines and the profiles adding interest and weight
to the image standing before us. You basically need
to be very patient and wait for that fleeting moment
to capture your best picture.
